University of Derby to build new £5m STEM Centre

The University of Derby is set to build a new centre for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) worth £12m, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

The University has been granted £5 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) that will be used as part of a larger investment in a new 4,200 square metre building.

Plans approved for new stadium in Scunthorpe

Plans to build a new 12,000 seats stadium in Scunthorpe have been approved by the local council, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The new sports arena will be located on the Lincolnshire Lakes development and the Council’s decision is subject to Highways and Environment Agency issues over access and flooding being resolved.

11-storey office block in the heart of Birmingham receives planning permission

An 11-storey office block that will become the new head office of HSBC’s ring-fenced bank is set to be built in the heart of Birmingham, a recent news report has revealed.

The project has been recently granted planning permission by the Birmingham City Council and will provide more than 190,700 sq ft of office space as well as 13,450 sq ft for retail or restaurant use on the ground floor.
