Access control systems are a must have for any public services’ buildings where the safety and security of personnel is of utmost importance, such as fire and rescue, ambulance or emergency centres.

Included in the above category is also the new £15 emergency centre that’s currently being built in Wrexham in Wales. The facility will house a six-bay ambulance station and eight-bay fire station, a recent media news report on the matter was able to reveal.

The site of a former brewery is set to be redeveloped and become a University Technical College (UTC) for West Midlands Construction in Wolverhampton, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.
 
The former Springfield Brewery site is to become home to the new multi-million pound, West Midlands Construction UTC (WMCUTC) for 14 to 19 year olds.

Building work starts on a new £14 million retail development in Surrey

Construction work has begun on a new £14 million retail development in Surrey, featuring two new retail units which will include car parking and soft landscaping.

Midas Construction is the main contractor for this project on behalf of client Notcutts Woodbridge Ltd, which owns the site. Troika Project Management Ltd has also been brought it for essential services for the project, which is set to be complete by June 2015.

School set to take over sports centre operation

A school in Reading is set to take over the operation of a sports centre located on its campus, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

The Highdown School in Emmer Green will take over running the centre from Reading Borough Council and plans to honour existing lesson programmes and leisure bookings but has not yet decided whether it will continue to allow members of the public casual access to the pool and sports hall.

Arts and design centre at Somerset College to undergo major refurb

A well-known British construction company has been selected to redevelop the arts and design centre at Somerset College, a recent news report in the local business media was able to reveal.

BAM will carry out extensive work on the existing 1970s Arts House on the college’s Taunton campus. The contractor for the £7 million project will put a new roof and exterior glazing on the main four-storey arts building, as well as giving it new mechanical and electrical services.
